Today, on Veterans Day, we take the time to honor our veterans who chose to serve our country, which means they chose to serve us. They sacrificed their time, their future, and in some cases their lives so we can live in freedom and safety for us and our children. What motivates them is not any hatred for those in front of them, but a love for those who are behind them. They hold dear the freedoms and opportunities we have and realize what our lives would become without it.

So, take a moment and thank a veteran, and maybe listen to their stories. Be helpful to the veterans who lost a part of themselves and are struggling. Also remember the men and women who gave their lives, and the family and friends they left behind.

"True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost." -Arthur Ashe
